“Campo-ponte-praça”, Mariana Bartolo, 2025, 13’
Sat 10h, 12h / Sun 10h
“Campo-Ponte-Praça” focuses on those who currently inhabit the ISMAI stadium, using an observational approach to capture how the space welcomes and is appropriated by those who occupy it. It seeks to view the building as a body turned inward, in an attempt to bring people closer to the architectural object and with a special fascination for the “extraordinary” events that take place there.
“Karle: Encontros”, Pedro Huet, 2026, 19’
Sat 11h / Sun 12h
Karle: Encontros” begins with wanderings through the grounds of Castêlo da Maia High School, extending also to Casa TT and the garden surrounding it. Through these visual wanderings, the film seeks to evoke a presence that, paradoxically, never reveals itself: it is absent from the image, yet imprints itself upon it like a trace or a ghost.
The camera acts as the sole character—a gaze that stages, observes, and questions. The images that emerge oscillate between documentary footage and digital manipulation, leaving the viewer in a state of constant doubt: was what we see filmed or artificially created?
The film’s narrative device is based on the interview format. It is through this format that a fictional narrative is constructed around a character who appears to be real but who, in the end, is entirely digital. As the film unfolds, a growing ambiguity takes hold: both the spaces and the characters challenge us to navigate between the materiality of reality and the illusion of its fabrication.
Ultimately, Karle: Encontros is a reflection on the limits of representation, on the fragility of what we take to be “true”, and on the possibility of creating worlds where presence and absence blur.
