Description
A trimmings factory dating from 1968 has been converted into a home-studio for two creative professionals. The conversion breaks away from the usual sequence of rooms found in a house to propose an open sequence of activities, where domestic life, art and creative production coexist.
The industrial space is divided by a recessed glass wall, creating a threshold that organises the living area. The removal of the existing roof creates a south-facing courtyard, allowing sunlight to enter. This intervention reveals an imposing metal structure that lends scale and presence, yet is repurposed for a delicate function, now embraced by climbing plants. It is a place that does not announce itself to the street, but is to be discovered as architecture of silent transformation, where the productive past is rendered intimate, fertile and habitable.
