Description
Casa Andresen is a unique building from an architectural point of view and exceptional in terms of its interior space, natural lighting, scale and relationship with its surroundings — the Botanical Garden of the University of Porto.
It is situated on Rua do Campo Alegre — an old road running parallel to the River Douro that once linked the city centre to the sea — and has a gross floor area of 2,300 m² spread over three storeys.
The garden area in which it is currently situated covers 43,000 m², forming part of a complex of buildings that includes the former caretaker’s house — Casa Salabert — and a group of greenhouses.
