Description
###NOTICE: For the safety of participants in the Open House Porto 2026, and due to the heat wave and extremely high temperatures, it will not be possible to open the Lionesa Business Hub to the public.
For almost 60 years, the Lionesa Business Hub was one of the country’s most notable textile companies: the Lionesa Silk Fabric Factory. With around 26,000 square metres of covered factory space, employing several hundred workers and producing over twelve million metres of fabric a year, the company, which was established here in 1948, reached its heyday in the 1970s and 1980s, and was considered at that time to be one of Portugal’s top 100 exporters, as well as a benchmark in overseas markets for its quality and production techniques. Following its bankruptcy, the potential of this site’s identity was recognised, alongside its enviable strategic location.
